Poker Podcast Roundup
One of my favorite ways to keep track of the poker scene is to listen to Podcasts. Think of a podcast as a radio show. Each show consists of a series of individual episodes that you can listen to how you want — on your computer, using your MP3 player, or with just a web browser. If you’ve never listened to podcasts, you’re in for a treat. Sports, comedy, movies, food, politics, music, books, speeches, walking tours, and of course poker.
The Circuit
The best known podcast is Card Player Magazine’s The Circuit. The Circuit recently changed hosts and is now hosted by Konan Luce, David Singer, and Rich Belsky. The Circuit features tips, tales, and trash-talk from the tournament trail. Whether it’s a Mike Matusow bad beat rant, or Daniel Negreanu teaching you the best strategy, hear straight poker talk from the biggest names and most colorful personalities in the game.
The Circuit is broadcast every day from all World Poker Tour events. You can listen on your computer, or you can download mp3’s to your mp3 player to listen to anywhere, anytime. You can even call in to the show and ask the pro’s questions by calling “The Donk Line”.
The Poker Edge on ESPNRadio.com
Another great poker podcast is The Poker Edge on ESPNRadio.com with hosts Phil Gordon (Professional Poker Player and Author) and Andrew Feldman (ESPN.com Poker Columnist and Editor). The Poker Edge takes the listener inside the lifestyle and the personalities of professional poker–all while helping you improve your own game. Phil Gordon (formerly of Celebrity Poker Showdown on BRAVO) has been touted as one of the best teachers and authors in the poker world. He, along with Andrew Feldman, will take you on a weekly trip through the latest poker news, interviews with the top names in poker, and weekly “Expert Insight” on all facets of No-Limit Hold’em.
Bluff Poker Radio
Bluff Magazine has a syndicated poker radio show that is broadcast on Sirius Satellite Radio hosted by Nick Geber. The show airs Monday and Wednesday evenings at 8:00 PM EST on Sports Byline USA, Sirius Satellite Radio (122) or the American Forces Radio Network. Additionally, there is a re-broadcast of the show on Thursdays at 10:00 AM and Saturdays at 8:00 PM EST. If the show is not carried in your area you can listen to the archived shows that are available on the Bluff Poker Radio website.
If you know of any other good poker podcasts leave a comment so I can check them out.
