Here are some basic rules to play Texas Hold em: Two players to the left of the dealer put out blind bets. The player directly left of the dealer puts out a small blind while the player two to the dealer’s left puts out a big blind. To play Texas Hold em, each player is dealt two pocket cards face down. The first move begins with the player to the left of the big blind, who can call, raise, or fold. To stay in the game and play Texas Hold em, betting continues around the table clockwise. After the betting three cards are dealt face up on the board as “community cards” also known as the flop. Everyone uses these cards in with their pocket cards to make the best possible combination. Betting then continues with the player to the dealer’s left who can check or bet. A fourth card is then dealt face up on the board, also called the turn. Then another round of betting ensues. Finally a fifth card called the river is also dealt face up. The final round of betting occurs and the remaining players show their cards to show who holds the best five card hand. This is the sequence to play Texas Hold em.
