Doyle Brunson Still Biggest Name In Poker

73 year old Doyle “Texas Dolly” Brunson has played poker professionally for over 40 years. He is a former world champion of poker and the author of several best selling poker books including Super System which many consider the bible of poker books. Doyle Brunson was the first player to earn $1 million in poker tournaments. He has won ten World Series of Poker bracelets throughout his career, tied with Johnny Chan and Phil Hellmuth for the record. He is also one of only four players to have won consecutive main events at the World Series of Poker, in 1976 and 1977.
According to Google, Doyle Brunson is still the biggest name in poker. The 16 confirmed players in the 2007 NBC Heads Up Championship were pitted against each other for a “Google-fight”. The results clearly show that Texas Dolly is still the biggest of them all. Fan favorite Daniel Negreanu was second in popularity followed by controversial 2006 World Series of Poker Main Event winner Jamie Gold.
