Celebrity Poker

Celebrity Poker refers to a celebrity game show featured on cable networks known as Celebrity Poker Showdown. The show is of a limited run series which features celebrities playing poker. While the first seven tournaments where taped at the Palms Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada the eighth was Celebrity Poker Showdown was taped at Harrah’s Entertainment and dubbed “the official casino of Celebrity Poker Showdown.” For every show, five celebrities play one no-limit Texas Hold’em tournament for the charity of their choice. When a player is eliminated from gameplay, he or she is ushered to the so-called “Loser’s Lounge” to watch the rest of the Celebrity Poker Showdown. Actor and comedian Kevin Pollack hosted the first series of Celebrity Poker Showdown except for the Championship Game. Dave Foley hosted all subsequent series. Professional poker players Phil Gordon and Phil Hellmuth also provided commentary during series tournaments.
