Casinos
Casinos are facilities that host certain types of gambling activities. Often times, casinos are placed near or combined with hotels, restaurants, and retail shopping stores to package tours and vacation events in within the near vicinity. Casinos are also venues to host live entertainment and sporting events. Historically the term was defined as a summer vacation house or a small villa built for pleasure on a larger Italian villas. Some examples of such casinos are the Villa Giula and the Villa Farnese. The term casinos then evolved in the 19th century to more public buildings that housed gambling and sports events. In modern Italy, casinos are also termed as bordellos, which literally means “closed house.”
